Like a kite unaware of the string below

We explore and new heights we seek

Dancing and diving in blissful abandon

Feeling invincible, racing from peak to peak.

Yet when the storm rolls in,

This invisible thread steadies and carries us through

Mooring us back to safety, with it’s comforting familiarity

A reminder that the old is still valuable, even if not exciting and new.

And just as it’s reached us through generations

An unbroken thread of hope

It’s our turn to pass it down

For our children to use when they grow.
